The North Cape Plateau - Follow in the footsteps of explorers and royalty. Experience the plateau at the end of the world, with its barren cliffs and its treeless, rugged landscape, both mystical and primal.

Book

Situated above 71°N, the cliff with its iconic globe is a breath-taking sight. Here you can enjoy the tranquillity of the arctic north, the magic of the island Magerøya, and scenery that stretches on forever. Perched on the edge of the three hundred metre (1000 feet) tall cliffs is the North Cape Hall.
It provides shelter from the elements, and also offers a visitors’ centre with a wide-screen cinema.
Included in the tour is a visit to an idyllic fishing village on the island’s east side.

The tour starts in Honningsvåg harbour, following the fjords and crossing the island’s plateau before ascending to the North Cape itself. The plateau is home to thousands of reindeer and birds, and we take a photo stop at the viewpoint overlooking Tufjord and North Cape. On the return journey, we stop in the beautiful fishing village of Kamøyvær. Here you can discover how life is at the end of the world, visit the gallery of Eva Schmutterer (www.evart.no) or stroll around the picturesque harbour.

New from 2019

Because we firmly believe in sustainable tourism, a percentage of your ticket cost is donated to the fishing village of Kamøyvær. The village council is free to use the money on roads, parks, maintenance etc. to compensate for the number of visitors that come to the village every summer.

  • Duration of the tour is 4 hours
  • Entry to the North Cape visitors’ centre and the cinema is included in the price of the ticket
  • We will stop at the summer camp of a Sami family, where you can see reindeer, and visit the art gallery of Eva Schmutterer. This does not apply to tours starting at 11 p.m. or later. Instead, we will provide an extra photo stop and a short sightseeing tour of Honningsvåg
  • The excursion schedule and order of stops is adjusted to the cruise ship’s timetable to make sure that you are back in time and have the best possible experience
  • All buses are equipped with air-conditioning
  • Guiding on the bus is in English or German – see timetables below
  • Additional departures and language combinations upon request
