North Cape & Sámi Adventure – An Exclusive Arctic Experience
Embark on a spectacular journey to the legendary North Cape, combined with an intimate and authentic encounter with a Sámi family. This is a guided adventure designed for those seeking deeper cultural connection and unforgettable nature. We travel through breathtaking Arctic landscapes to the North Cape plateau, where your knowledgeable guide will share insights and local stories along the way. Enjoy the visit inside the North Cape Hall and take time to absorb the dramatic views from the edge of Europe.
On our return, we visit a genuine Sámi Siida, where a Sámi herding family welcomes you personally into their traditions. Step inside their “lávvu” (traditional Sámi tent), taste reindeer meat and Sámi cake (sweet bread), learn about their 8 seasons as reindeer herders and discover how the traditional “joik” (chanting) originates from nature and emotion. You’ll also get to try your hand at “lasso” throwing, a cherished and important Sámi skill. This is not a performance – it’s a heartfelt meeting with real people who generously share their culture, stories, and way of life.
