Our Basecamps

Arctic Coast Camp – on the edge of Sommarøy

Located right by the coast near Sommarøy, this camp is hosted by a local who built the site using reclaimed materials and a deep love for Arctic coastal culture. Enjoy a warm maritime meal from a local kitchen and cozy up with coffee, tea, or hot cocoa while waiting for the Northern Lights. The camp offers indoor facilities and restrooms.

Aurora Base Camp – inland east of Tromsø

Inspired by traditional Sámi architecture, this camp is a fixed lavvu with a glass roof and an indoor fire pit. Here, you’ll be served a warm, traditional meal and hot drinks like coffee, tea, or chocolate. Nestled between mountains and open plains, it offers a tranquil setting. The camp has restrooms and is run by a local farmer who ensures the fire is lit, the road is cleared, and everything is ready for your arrival.

Guided Experience

Our professional guides provide insight into the science and mythology of the Northern Lights, sharing stories from the region along the way. The tour is primarily conducted in English, and our guides often speak multiple languages.
