Chasing the Northern Lights in Tromsø

Join an exciting hunt for the spectacular northern lights. Maybe you will capture the perfect aurora photo too. You will be accompanied by our top aurora guide and a certified driver in a warm, comfortable coach. Using knowledge, experience, and the latest weather forecasts, together with drivers who know local road conditions, our team chooses the best route for the night.

In addition to planning where we go, one of your guide’s main tasks is to take photos of you, preferably with the aurora in the background. If you do not have a camera, you will still receive some photos. Our guides have long experience photographing the northern lights and can show you the right camera settings, share useful tips, and explain the science behind the aurora.

Meeting Point

The meeting place for the Northern Lights Chase is inside the building Prostneset terminal (at the main entrance downstairs and close to the bus terminal). Address: Samuel Arnesens gate 5, 9008 Tromsø. The bus is marked with Arctic Guide Service.

From 6 September to 22 September
Meet up 19:45. Departure 20:00.

From 23 September to 6 October
Meet up 19:15. Departure 19:30.

From 7 October to 19 March 2025
Meet up 18:15. Departure 18:30.

From 20 March to 6 April 2025
Meet up 19:15. Departure 19:30.

Meeting point: parking lot on the quay below Troll Museum and Yonas Pizzeria. The bus is marked “Arctic Guide Service.”

The northern lights are a natural phenomenon. If they are not visible during the tour, you may book another night at a 50% discount.
